    Caressed by the mist, combed by the wind. The ride to Shivaganga hills was definitely memorable. It was the last destination on our list, to complete the photo assignment that my friend was working on. The cold weather & the prospect of trekking a hill made a unique combination!

    As my friends prepared to set up their cameras, I began to roam around the place. There was an entire temple that was built inside a cave! The priests at the temple were friendly and allowed us to use cameras inside. To find a temple in a cave was something that I least expected.

    The Shivaganga temple at the foot of the hill provided wonderful examples of early 18th century architecture. This was apparently crucial to the assignment that required collecting pictures and stories of ancient temples. Time had ravaged what remained of a glorious era.

    The trek uphill was pleasant and relaxing. Shivaganga hills seemed to encourage visitors to have fun, take photos etc- somethings that temples often condemn. However this did not disrupt the sanctity of the temple in any way, and faith seemed to take an amusingly zesty path here.

    One thing that I've experienced while trekking is that the sight that lies ahead is always worth the perseverance. This theory was proved true by the Shivaganga peak. The breathtaking panoramic view made me feel like a bird perched on a high tree. Here, we wound up our pilgrimage
