  • Kashid Beach
    Kashid Beach
Drive down NH66 to reach Kashid Time on road : 5 hours. The beach wasn't much crowded.
My friends were arguing about whether we should go to Goa again or just be the Pandas we were.Out of nowhere, one of them pointed out how we were already in a coastline & should explore it more.We were so dumb to not notice it earlier. There we went! Kashid was our first stop.
  • Murud-Janjira Fort
    Murud-Janjira Fort
A long walk on the beach. Murud Janjira Fort. Konkani word for Island : Morod.Arabic word for Island : Jazeera
Architecture was surely something back then.Maybe it was required as such.It wasn't constructed for amusement,it was done for a purpose. I had never seen anything such & to see a 17th century fort intact in the Arabian sea,out of nowhere for that matter was awesome. Next Stop ;)
  • Murud-Janjira Fort
    Murud-Janjira Fort
The views from the fort. 3 gigantic canons. The ferry will take you to the fort
I wonder how it must have felt back then. The fort does raise such questions because it is still so intact. Hmm,maybe the water around made it inaccessible for the hooligans to vandalize this beauty. History with a bit of nature & serenity is always a good combination! :D
  • Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary
    Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary
Sightings of beautiful birds.Go for the jungle safari.
This was more of a place with beautiful birds rather than a jungle per say. But it did have spiders that we saw on our safari.Any place that has wild spiders is a jungle to me. :3 I had no idea that I would be going to a sanctuary on my roadtrip across beaches. It was pleasant.
  • Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary
    Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary
    The greenery all around. :')
I had walked into this part of the sanctuary by chance.I like my luck sometimes..at least when it comes to travelling. Otherwise it pretty much sucks. I was with all the elements of the nature, that were in perfect sync with each other. I sure was now looking forward to the trip
  • Korlai Fort
    Korlai Fort
    Portugese Fortification.
Surrounded by 270° of water. The Portugese sure knew how to build a fort. Many of the trekkers decided to stay in an abandoned church on the fort.Well, that sounded pretty adventures. If only I had a sleeping bag. There were around 3 entrance paths. We chose the easy one..vacation :>

I'm all for clean beaches & amazing food available in the shack,by those beaches. But what's an Indian beach without bullock carts in it? Don't you just love the different colors of India? All the criticisms aside,it surprises me every single time I set my foot out. :')
  • Anjarle
    Anjarle
Leg of the roadtrip was the best.Drive along Revdada Murud road.Time on the road : 4hr 30 minsThe beautiful coastline
The next beach on our list was Anjarle. We had no idea that drive to our next destination would be our favorite leg of the roadtrip.Driving along a long & beautiful coastline does cheer you up. After Kashid,my expectations had gone higher & all I wanted was more peace.I got it.:)

    Peace.
Goa does have tranquil beaches but so does Maharashtra. This place wasn't the focal point of tourism & that made it a lot more better. As I sat in the balcony of my hotel,I could see the rhythmic waves, the locals playing cricket on the beach & a cup of chai made everything better.
  • Anjarle
    Anjarle
The beach was surrounded by lush green forests & palm trees. It did give off some perfect beach vibe The small port is famous for Kadyawarchi temple :Right Trunked Ganpati, which is apparently quite rare. But we arrived late & had even esser time.So :3 Ganpati is still my favorite
  • Anjarle

The white sand & turtles :')
This is the thing about beaches with tranquillity. You get to see them at their most vulnerable forms & that's exactly what makes them special. I could see many turtles around..making their way back to the sea..this little one was a bit slow.My friends & I were rooting for him! :D

    The sunset.
There are some moments in life when you realize, how everything you're fighting for..how everything you're struggling for is worth it.When you take a deep breath & let go of all those worries for that specific moment. This exact photo was that 'moment' for me on this trip.
  • Malgund
    Malgund
The Village :')Native Village of Kavi Keshavsoot.Drive down the State Highway 4Time on the road : 4 hours
The further we went, the better it got.Commercialization has merely touched this small coastal town.We chose to stay here instead of going to the popular Ganpatipule beach. What's a beach trip without getting to know about the local people? It was time to strap my travel boots.:)
  • Malgund
    Malgund
Clean Beaches. Sound of the waves :') (ASMR ;) )
The beach in my hometown is a junkyard.I wish both locals & tourists had collective responsibility to keep the beaches clean.Less tourism did do wonders to the beach here. My foreign cousin used to listen to the sound of waves before bed.It irked me then I'm in love with it now
  • Malgund

    The glimpse of coastal life.
I won't lie.On my trip, across so many beaches,I had almost forgotten that these coastal towns are home to hundreds.I wonder if one gets bored if one sees a sunset by the sea everyday or does one even see that everyday? People were busy with their chores & I was busy admiring.:)
  • Jaigad Fort
    Jaigad Fort
    Overlooks a bay.
There were many forts on my trip across the coastline of Maharashtra & not once did I regret going to any of them. Each of them had a story to tell. This one had a palace,a ganpati temple & wells in the middle. I don't understand why people draw hearts on the walls. How stupid.
  • Jaigad Fort
    Jaigad Fort
If Goa has a 'Dil Chahta Hai' spot, then the Maharashtra Port towns have the beautiful forts. I fell in love with the forts on this trip. The forts have endured so much.Starting from their construction to their annexation by the British.Yet the walls stood tall among its own ruins.
  • Tilak Ali
    Tilak Ali
Tilak Ali Museum. No photography allowed inside. No entry charge.
Not exactly a museum per say but it was the birthplace of Bal Gangadhar Tilak. An old Konkani house that has been converted to a museum now. I came across some of the articles that were written by him & his belongings as well.I had always liked History : the freedom movement.:')
  • Tarkarli Beach
    Tarkarli Beach
The houseboat by the sea.Drive down on NH66. Time on the road : 5 hours. Water sports destination!
I'm not a fan of houseboats but I try them every time I visit to a place that has them.Maybe I got a weird travelling syndrome or something. A few kilometers from here,Maharashtra's coastline turns into that of Goa.So,we were expecting a lot of 'happening' stuff to happen.:>
  • Tarkarli Beach
    Tarkarli Beach
SnorkelingYou may try scuba diving as well!
I have mentioned in my other trails that I'm a tad bit scared of water but that doesn't stop me to attempt Water Sports..well,tbh it does stop me & then there are annoying friends that push me to do it. A coral beach ensures a good snorkeling experience & so it was.T'was fun!!
  • Tarkarli Beach
    Tarkarli Beach
    Parasailing.
None of my travel trails are perfect. Now,this was almost perfect but I backed out of the parasail in the last moment.I did not feel ready & did regret it after returning to the hotel. My friends were all raving about it while I was sipping my chai in despair. :( Are you brave? :>
  • Tarkarli Beach
    Tarkarli Beach
Serene yet happening beaches.Crab Cones? Gelato? Huh??
I was glad that I did not skip Maharashtra in order to catch the happening Goa.Because in those few beaches,I came across majestic forts, tranquil sunsets & authentic villages. Each beach has a story..a story that's yet to be told to its visitors. As for me,I loved those stories.
