The trek in Ramanagram was a major requirement for me as I wanted to get away from the city. Just about 50 kilometres away, it made the perfect getaway spot for me!

I was on the road at 8 am in the morning, had some breakfast in between and reached the base of the trek in about an hour and a half. The morning had a chilly breeze, and the birds were all chirping for attention. The landscape looked like a painting...

The grey, thunderous clouds were teasing the rain :P But the environment there was very mesmerising. The soft sounds of walking over soil and leaves are one of my most favourite things to hear!

The way up was not that long. It took me about two hours to reach the top. I saw lots of little birds on my way up! The scenery of the valley was beautiful. It used to be a taluk headquarters in 1928, and was named Ramanagaram in 1949.

Ah, finally reaching the tents was a relief. The imposing hills surrounded us, and made it a humbling experience. There was plenty of wildlife to be seen here.

After some rest, I started to explore the environment around me. There was also the option of rappelling, which I jumped on! It was an invigorating activity, and was reasonably tough. I may have slipped a few times :P

After spending the night there, it was time to go to the famous Ramadevara Betta Vulture Sanctuary the next day! I took off in the morning and reached there quickly in about 20 minutes.

These are the hills where the renowned movie Sholay was shot! Being there was so fun. The hilly atmosphere had the usual serenity about it.

The vulture sanctuary was beautiful. There was a variety of wildlife there, and the most unusual thing I saw there was The Golden Silk Orb-Weaver spider. It looked like something out of a horror movie. However, it looked so exotic that I couldn't believe my eyes.

According to mythology, this was one of the places where Ram, Sita and Lakshman did their Vanvas. This pond was made by Ram using his arrow, because Sita was needed a place to bathe.

I caught a glimpse of the evasive Long-Billed Vultures. Unfortunately, they're on the list of critically endangered animals, making this sanctuary very significant. My short trek and exploration of the vulture sanctuary was an intoxicating experience, and was also knowledgeable.
