To give an idea about what exactly I'm talking about, have a look at this photo. At first, this looks like death-defying,life-risking & everything that a daredevil or an idiot would do.I had seen this rock on instagram quite a lot. So,during my short stint in Brazil,I checked it out
  • Pedra do Telégrafo
    Pedra do Telégrafo
We walked through a neighbourhood that has the makings of a favela, uneven roads, makeshift houses & trash everywhere. It was one of the steepest roads that I had to walk on..ever. As we walked on the hardened mud path on the trail, the steepness levelled & we reached in 30mins.

I'd urge everyone to go to the place as soon as possible if one doesn't want to wait in the looooong queue that leads to the actual rock. My thighs were burning & I was gasping for air but the view after I reached the top was worth every struggle I had to do on the trail itself.

I was told by our guide how in a place like this, the destination totally mattered more than the journey itself. It did seem like the age of instagram but somehow..the traveller in me liked the journey as well. Even though we were technically in Rio De Janeiro,it felt different

As we hiked towards the top,we could see the raw unexplored beauty of Rio De Janeiro. This part of the Brazilian Capital was unlike the rest,it had a certain sense of calmness in it..which,to be honest..was overwhelming as we were among the first ones to reach there & it was quiet

With the vast sea right before my eyes,I had totally forgotten about the rock for a moment there. Can you blame me? I have never been a fan of Instagram-worthy photos but I had to check a to-do thing off my list but while I was busy doing that,I came across a different world.:')

I was getting on my edge after actually getting on the edge. Everyone there wanted the perfect photo, that "one more shot".They gave birth to the meaning of the words "cliff hog".The wait went up to hours & during that wait..I subtly admired the grand view of Rio De Janeiro.

As the sun started to set, there was a whole new meaning added to the once instagram worthy rock. It showed us a different side of Rio De Janeiro that most of us miss out on amongst the Samba & Football. The crowd had decreased. The rock, the sea & the sky had a different meaning.
  • Barra de Guaratiba
    Barra de Guaratiba
As we were in that neighbourhood of Rio De Janeiro that gets missed out for the more known places,we decided to get the most of us. Parachuting it was. There really was a queue to everything unless you arrived there sooner than the others but every wait was pretty worthwhile.
  • Prainha
    Prainha
Prainha means "Little Beach" in Portuguese.Surrounded by mountains & tropical rainforests,it gave a cozy isolated feeling that I personally loved. The crowd was scarce & the cleanliness at the beach was like a cherry on the top of the awesomeness that the beach promised to have.
  • Prainha
    Prainha
This particular beach seemed like a secret that Rio De Janeiro had been hiding from the tourists. Even though it wasn't crowded,it had a lot of activities like the one in a chair on a Parachute! My favorite activity included sipping some cocktail & admiring the beach from afar!

The best part about not-so-commercial beaches is the fact that they are not commercial. You're getting to see a place the way Nature intended you to & that in itself,is the most beautiful part. We sure were intrigued by the turtle that was going back to its home after a long day

We were moving from one beach to the other & We were loving it! This is coming from someone who doesn't usually prefer to go to Beaches.Every beach in this secluded neighbourhood had a charm or what people call, a distinct feature of its own for which it was known. :')

It's amazing how so many people are used to the Beach life.It is a place that they see everyday while for some of us,it is a place that we treasure in a different way. I did wonder how Aurora or Cinderella would react on seeing a beach or how Moana would react on seeing a castle
  • Macumba beach
    Macumba beach
This beach was known for his high waves & a favorite getaway for the surfers. It was characterised by the small mountain that I could see in all its pictures on google.Yeah,I had done my research before going there. I don't have a clue regarding surfing.I didn't mind watching.;)

A Tip for Non-Surfers : When you don't have a single idea about surfing & are scared to death to go that deep into the sea...Drone your way through! While my brother tried his luck at beginner surfer's area,I tried my videography skills & continued shooting the master surfers!
  • Rio de Janeiro
    Rio de Janeiro
It wasn't all quiet & serene in all the beaches. Some of them knew how to lift the moods up in the most Brazilian style possible! There were slides that would land you into the water & activities that would take you high up in the air. These did give the Brazilian vibes!

Like I mentioned in the previous post, some of them totally knew how to party! These are the type of parties I like though..a bit of RnB,food on my table & enough company to make it lively but not crowded. These beaches were sure different from the ones found in the city!
  • Praia do Secreto
    Praia do Secreto
This part of the beach came as a total surprise. We would have totally missed it,had we not followed a Brazilian family who were heading there. As the name suggests,it is a "secret" beach that not many know of.It is a naturally formed rock pool with sandy bottom. One can climb down.
  • Praia do Secreto
    Praia do Secreto
The Brazilian Family led us to the area & showed us how it has to be done. To be honest,I was taken aback! I couldn't deal with the fact that a huge wave might push me against the humongous rocks.Brazilian waves can be furious, thus one must go when the waves aren't that high!
  • Lagoa Azul
    Lagoa Azul
We came to Lagao Azul as part of a boat tour that my brother had booked for no absolute reason but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! There were options for Kayaking as well, had we known that earlier,we would've definitely gone for that one. :3
  • Lagoa Azul
    Lagoa Azul
Even though the coral wasn't as colorful as I'd expected it to be,I did see different varieties of Fish. One needs to go away from the boats to enjoy the real deal. The fact this was literally out of nowhere & soooo random..that made this otherwise casual experience quite fun!
  • Museu Casa do Pontal
    Museu Casa do Pontal
For our final visit,we went to a museum that housed Brazilian clay & wood figures, all of them depicting the daily lives of the common folks of the fun-loving nation, from the yesteryears to the present day. The Museum is embedded in beautiful surroundings as well. :')
  • Museu Casa do Pontal
    Museu Casa do Pontal
The Museum isn't meant for everyone. You should either be a lover of folk art or just very curious about Brazilian art in general. The place isn't located conveniently either but I was glad that I had made it there. The video depicts the slave culture that used to exist in Brazil.
  • Museu Casa do Pontal
    Museu Casa do Pontal
According to my personal experience, every country is culturally rich in one way or the other but then there are some countries that know how to display it in the most awesome way possible & among those,Brazil sure lies among the best ones!
  • Museu Casa do Pontal
    Museu Casa do Pontal
Guess What was favorite part of the Brazilian display of culture at this museum? The performers weren't trained or hadn't practised it for a long time. They were visitors just like me but they clearly knew when to step it & raise the heat ..together! :D
  • Rio de Janeiro
    Rio de Janeiro
I was finally making my way back to the town when I saw this gentleman trying to lift the mood up. Even though there wasn't dancing like the previous videos, everyone was listening to his songs with a good amount of focus.I didn't understand the language even a bit but t'was nice
  • Rio de Janeiro
    Rio de Janeiro
This was one of the first videos I had taken after reaching the top of the cliff. I had gone to this non-touristy area of Rio De Janeiro for the "Instagram" Rock but in return,I came across that side of Rio that not many visitors know of but it does exist & is equally beautiful.
