Turquoise blue waters Jamaican sun and sand!
The Caribbean island of Jamaica is well known for its beautiful blue waters, mountains, reggae music and general relaxed atmosphere. It is every holidayer's dream destination, and luckily I got to experience it for two whole weeks!

Wildlife conservation effortsDiversity of marine life
One of my favourite experiences was at Dolphin's Cove at Ocho Rios. Jamaica's economy relies heavily on eco tourism for their income. This goes hand in hand with conserving their natural wildlife and one such place where tourists and wildlife can interact safely is dolphin cove!

We started off by taking a small tour of the entire area and our guide talked to us about the history and conservation efforts of the place. The blue waters were unlike anything I had ever seen before. With the ocean mist spraying in our faces and waves lapping, I was in paradise

    Interaction of trainers and fish!
Soon, the demonstrations began! Properly trained marine experts introduced us to the dolphins, baby sharks and stingrays. They spoke about the nature of these fish, how to handle them safely and did a few tricks they had learned!

There was a very fun dance and introduction by the marine trainers as well! We all clapped along 😃😃

    Dance of the dolphins!
The moment we were waiting for finally arrived! The dolphin show began! We heard the distinct sound of dolphins approaching and they leaped out of the water with a splash! They performed the most adorable synchronised dance and responded to the trainers so lovingly!

For every dance or trick the dolphins did, the trainers rewarded them with some fish. The interaction between the trainers and dolphins was really amazing to observe. ❤

Watching the trainers I wished I could develop such a beautiful connection with these marine animals ❤❤

The dolphins were really well taken care of. A lot of them were rescued dolphins, each one had a name and a particular trainer that would take care of it and who it shared a special bond with! 🐬🐬

Great! Now it was time for us to dive in and swim with the dolphins ourselves! We put on our life jackets and prepared ourselves for the jump. I was quite nervous, but there was no way I was going to let this once in a lifetime opportunity go by!

There were a few people in line before us and we got a preview of what we were in for!

Kiss on the nose by dolphins!
The swimming was done in batches of six people. Two dolphins came swimming up to us, and we all got friendly with them. Turn by turn, we gently held their fins, and glided through the water. They even gave us a kiss on the nose when we were done!

Next we headed to the stingray lagoon, where we were going to get the chance of interacting with some stingrays!

The lagoon was a separate cordoned off area, with shallow water. I loved the feeling of the white sand between my toes the clear water. I was a bit scared of the stingray though - even though their poison had been removed!

The stingray was really friendly and gentle! A guide helped us get over our hesitation and once we touched it, it felt very soft and had the texture of a mushroom! What an interesting feeling!
