Got a bus from chandigarh to solan, then from solan a private bus to kandaghat and from there i took a lift to chail. The person who gave lift to me offered me to stay at his residence for a night. He told me everything about chail and also helped me to decide my further routes.

Walinng on absolute silent roads.Feels like walking in a forest.
I took a walk from his residence to the town that was around 7km and it took me 1hr to reach there. The walk was worth the effort as it has beautiful panormic view and dense deodar and pine trees all around the roads. The weather here was pleasant at 22°C to 17°C.

    Panormic viewsNo street lights
At some places you can find best panormic views of mountains and play of shade and shadows and at some places a walk inside a dense forest where you can only see high pine trees all around. Trust me you would not feels how the time passes during this 1hr walk.

Avoid walking in night because there are no street lights on this routes and the only hope is the light from the vehicles crossing you. Also another risk is of finding wild animals and as you would hardly find anyone on this route during night it becomes quite risky.
  • Chail
    Chail
This is actual chail town. I spend the first day here and the best and budget lunch you can have here is at vishal resturant. From here there are two main nearest location you can visit- kali tibba temple (must visit) and siddh baba temple (in the abode of nature)
  • Kali Tibba Temple
    Kali Tibba Temple
    360° clear viewVery high slope
Located at 7km from chail this is the place to find best panormatic 360° views of all around the hills as this temple is located at the peak. I took a share ride in a private taxi to reach here and that cost me ₹100.
  • Sidh Baba Ka Mandir
    Sidh Baba Ka Mandir
Walking into the wild. As this place is located withing dense abode of high pine and deodar trees you can very calmly take a walk into the forest. I took a 700m walk into the forest and the only thing i could hear was silent chirping of birds and light babbling of monkeys.
  • Sidh Baba Ka Mandir

I could even hear my own breath here along with sounds of birds, monkeys and the wind.

Taking the road towards kufri at a distance of 21km from chail you will find a diversion to junga village. This places was included in the list because the person who gave offered me stay in chail had his another residence here and told me its worth to give a try.

This was his another residence and i stayed here for another night. He offered me a very good himachali cousine and during night we also took a walk into the dense forest at the back of this house. That was the most adventurous thing that happened to me on this journey.

Next morning i headed towards kufri and narkanda. As i had only two days left of my journey and being heard a lot about narkanda i just had halt at kufri to enjoy the highest go cart racing track in india. I also couldn't find any PGs or homestays at this location.

View of himalayasWeather and panormic view
Arriving in narkanda was the best hill experience i ever had. This is very small town located at the peak of a hill with only 4-5 hotels. This is all of the narkanda you can see in the picture. At the left most side of this picture, the highest peak is hatu peak.
  • Narkanda
    Narkanda
Trust me its the best hill station i have ever seens. I literally spend sitting in the balcony of the homestay for 6hrs straight by just looking at the mood swings of himalayas and play of shade and shadow of mountains and flow of clouds. Temperature here was 15°C in afternoon.
  • Hatu Peak
    Hatu Peak
Next days i headed for hatu peak. This was the most of the journey i completed on foot. The total run from narkanda is 7km and it took me 4hrs to reach at the peak. This effort was proved worth as i reached at the peak. Just wow. Never seen and experienced this before.
  • Hatu Peak

A perfect place for adventure and meditation. Perfectly calm with a smooth cold wind. Temperature here was 12°C in afternoon and 4°C during the night.

Here i found a small abandoned himachal tourism cottage near the hatu temple. This was surely my another place for the night stay. After taking permission from the pandit and few other people i managed to survive in that little cottage for the night.
