I don't want to sound cliche but Goa had always been a perfect beach destination for friends to chill until we made our first trip to Malvan, right here in Maharashtra! It all began with a post by a friend, featuring beautiful blue beaches with nude sand and off we were to Malvan!

We had taken a flight from Mumbai to Malvan and then we would explore the oasis with a friend from Malvan! I'm a beach bum, and I'm super lucky that my friends are natives of beach lands! The road trip was a really good one, from buildings and pollution to trees and fish fry!

    Malvan
Malvan simply gives such a village like feeling! There are tiny houses made of mud bricks covered with palm leaves, the roads at many places aren't concrete, you'll find kids running and playing around and the air you breathe is just so fresh and full of energy!

We reached our friends house around afternoon and his mother blessed us with the best Malvani food ever! I swear even if you aren't a fish lover you'll fall in love with the fish fry here, they use some different spices and different techniques. It's simple but simply delicious:D
  • Tarkarli Beach
    Tarkarli Beach
The first stop in our checklist was the Tarkarli beach! This was the very place we had seen in that random person's Instagram post! On reaching here it came to us as a shock that the beach wasn't littered at all! All clean blue water!

While walking on the sand here I felt something really ticklish and at first I thought it was an ant or something but holy moly crabssss! So many of them! All over! And can you see how fast they snap back into that tiny hole when they see you! Felt like I was on fish island!

From here we took a jetty ride to what are called the Tarkarli Backwaters or Jheel! It isn't anything like Kerala Backwaters but it does give a Kerala feel with the coconut trees all around! They also have house boats that take you around the place!

And look whom we met on the way! Yes Dolphins! Tarkarli is actually one place you can spot Dolphins! But these dolphins didn't quite look very interested in us! Or maybe they were fighting! πŸ™„

    Tsunami Island
Once we had reached the Tsunami Island we couldn't stop obsessing over the view! The sand almost shines in the sun and every wave brings in starfishes and shells! Here is the place where the Karli river meets the ocean! Beautiful isn't it:)

Omggggggg! Look at this starfish trying to walk! So many freaking legs though πŸ™„ Like I said, with every wave came in dozens of starfishes all looking utterly beautiful!

The Tsunami Island is also extremely popular for adventure sports and we obviously couldn't let go of the experience! So jet ski it was! And we had so much fun playing ski skiπŸ˜‚ Competition goalsπŸ’―

While coming back to Tarkarli beach almost all of my friends went ahead with para sailing as well and I was too scared as usual and didn't go for it. Everytime kept forcing me but lol I didn't listen! All my friends had fun though. It definitely was a good experience!

And we weren't done yet! The last time we went for adventure sports I remember I did not go in for the banana ride but this time just couldn't resist! I hate how they threw us at the coast though:(

When we reached Tarkarli again, the sun was almost bidding goodbye! It had been an amazing and a tiring day all at once! But we were all happy. We had already done Malvan right!!

On coming back home aunty knew we didn't want to only have fish, so like a sweetie she made chicken curry and chicken fry for us! Malvani food is the bestπŸ’―

Next morning we were on our way to the Chivala beach and from there we had to go sightseeing at the Sindhudurg fort! Mornings in Malvan are almost lonely but still completely beautiful!
  • Chikala
    Chikala
The beach was absolutely beautiful and there weren't many people around! The sun was still on its way so we could easily chill in the cold winds and salt waves hitting our feat with the salty air all around. I swear when I got home I smelled more of salt than fish!

In sometime we took a boat ride from the beach to the Sindhudurg fort! Boat rides in Malvan make you feel like it's not Maharashtra but when reality hits you hard and you see the boat, well it is definitely Maharashtra! Lol! The surroundings are beautiful though ❀️
  • Sindhudurg Fort
    Sindhudurg Fort
A drone picture of the fort! Isn't it huge and doesn't it look simply stunning! No doubt Shivaji was the man behind this all! Maratha power πŸ’―

    Sindhudurg Fort
The fort is so majestic and simply stunning! This place is called the Rock garden and I could sit here for a lifetime simply staring at the day come and go by. It is such beautiful view!!
  • Sindhudurg Fort
    Sindhudurg Fort
The one thing I loved about the fort is that it is not in ruins! The construction has been superbly well done and credit has to be given to the mighty Marathas. While most fort have walls tumbling every Friday, this fort stands tall and unbeatable in the sea!
  • Sindhudurg Fort
    Sindhudurg Fort
The fort campus is really huge and you'll see roads big enough for two trucks to pass all around! There are also a few settlements inside! One fort you mustttt visit in Maharashtra πŸ’―

    Sindhudurg Fort
Such secret doorways! Good for the Marathas and also for the enemies obviously! You must see the waves crashing on the fort walls! Such a beautiful experience:)

Before leaving we also went scuba diving!! It was another surreal experience amond the fishes! So many and all slipping out of our hands!

We left Malvan a day after, and I can never forget the experiences we had here. It was a true adventure trip! We had so much fun and obviously I went scuba diving as well so it was a huge achievement for me,along with the banana ride obviously! I'll miss Malvan, the fish & salt!
