"What could be a good place or city to celebrate New Year's?" was what we were wondering a week before New Year's Eve. I had a long vacation and so did my sister which called for a mini family vacation to someplace. Without having any second thoughts, we decided on Hyderabad.

The craving for biryani had set inMughalian Architecture
It was pretty late when we reached Hyderabad, but wasn't too late to notice how beautiful the city was. The the architecture was still inspired by the Mughal era, the weather was lovely and one could notice hundreds of 'Paradise' and 'Bawarchi' biryani joint.

    Beautiful interiors ✨
There are a few places with very rich history that one should visit if it's their first time in Hyderabad. One of them is Char Minar. Char Minar, is definitely a place worth visiting despite a few cons. The place isn't maintained like it's supposed to be though.

But despite the not up-to-the mark maintenance, you could really fall in love with how the entire Minar was built. Built by Quli Qutub Shah, in 1591 this monument is a piece of work. If you looked properly, you could notice the interiors and carvings inspired by their times.

The streets of Char Minar are always hustling and busy. There are mosques around from which you hear the sound of the lovely Azaan. The Begum Bazaar next to it is the go to place for beautiful accessories especially Afghan inspired. Amongst all the dirt, you somehow find beauty

    My personal favourite 💖
Another of Hyderabad's beauty is the Golkonda Fort. And I being an ardent lover of History, I fell in love with the place. The Golkonda Fort was basically built by the Kakatiya Dynasty but was seized by the Qutub Shah Dynasty finally falling in to the hands of Aurangzeb.
  • Golconda Fort
    Golconda Fort
The fort was enormous and there were most places we couldn't even visit, owning to my Dad's paranoia that we'd get lost, but the exploring the ruins of the fort was a feeling in itself. Each part of the fort had a story to tell.

    Golconda Fort
Not to forget the fort had lovely architecture and there was a lot of history to it. We had a guide tell us the everything about it, the stories of how the Qutub Shah dynasty fought to conquer this and all other heroic stories was mesmerising to hear. It was beautiful, really. ♥️

    Golconda Fort
Exploring Golconda was like a labyrinth. We couldn't reach the end of it though. There were caves and hollow tunnels and shallow dried out ponds which reminded me of all the 70s and 80s Bollywood songs, somehow. I still don't know how it fits into the picture though. 🙈

Tiny white houses near the fort 🏡Exploring the ruins of the fortProper tourist destination 🤦🏼‍♀️
There were few other tiny mosques and monuments outside the fort. But what mesmerised me were the tiny houses that were built along the roads of Golconda. I wish I could have taken a picture of it but the fort being a tourist destination, was so crowded, it was impossible.

The arts and craft mela ♥️
Shilpa Ramam is a popular arts and culture auditorium in Hyderabad. And luckily, for us they had the yearly crafts mela going on which I think was the best part of the trip for me and my mom. 🙈😜

Traditional tinge to every item 🌸
The art and crafts mela was all sorts of artsy. From accessories, to clothes, to household ornamentation, they had it all. But what was beautiful was the ethnic touch to every items they had.

Could bargain our ways out 😊Lovely experience 🌸
Shilpa Ramam was quite an experience . We ended up shopping a lot and were very satisfied and happy at the end of the day. Also, the items were a little expensive but one could use their bargaining power and work their ways out if they were talented enough. 🙈😜

Mandiiiii! ♥️✨Too much to finish 🙈The Arabian Seating Style 👌🏻
Coming to the food, of course the Biryani is famous, but we decided to try Arabian dishes for a change. There are way too many Arabian restaurants in Hyderabad and you could stop by any of them. We ordered a Mandi and it was too good to be true. 😋
  • Bawarchi Restaurant

Could go back in time just for it ♥️
Of course, we had to try the Hyderabadi Biryani as well. It didn't disappoint us at all. The Dum Chicken Biryani was deserving to all our taste buds and we, honestly couldn't have enough of it. Though one Biryani itself was way too much for two of us, it was extremely delicious 😋
  • Banjara Hills
    Banjara Hills
Really cool cafesClean and pretty 👌🏻
Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills are tow of those places that are very popular and posh in Hyderabad. Most of the film actors and actresses stay there. But why I likes Banjara Hills was because they had lovely and aesthetic places and cafes to eat out there. 😍

    Amazing European Dinner.10/10 aesthetics
Roastery Coffee House was one of the cafes in Banjara Hills which served extremely good food. What was amusing about it was the fact that it was house which served as a cafe downstairs. The ambience, and food were both 10/10.

    Must try out Karachi Bakery
Another of Hyderabad's must visit place is the famous Karachi Bakery. Though it's also there in Bangalore, but you could find it every where in Hyderabad and they are famous for their cookies and biscuits. We packed a lot of it home.

Quality family timeLowkey New Year's Eve! 🌸
Our New Year's Eve was a refreshing one and unlike the usual loud music and dancing, we ended up having a family dinner at the Taj in Hyderabad. The live music was amazing and so was the wine and dine. Hyderabad had a crazy New Year's vibe though, which was very good to see.

One hell of a week ♥️Spending time with fam
The last week of December of 2017 was amazing. I don't usually get to meet my family often, and spending a week with them exploring a new city altogether was very rejuvenating and lovely. Hyderabad didn't disappoint us. Here's wishing many more travelling to all in 2018! ✨
