    It's no secret that Denmark is called one of the happiest countries in the world! And its capital, Copenhagen serves that title 100%! If you're young, Copenhagen is a literal playground, with amusement parks and some of the trendiest shopping and nightspots anywhere.

    Will you believe me if I say that people from all over the world come to Copenhagen just to visit Tivoli? Its the truth! Tivoli Gardens is the world’s second oldest theme park, and if you do have kids with you they will have the time of their lives on some of these rides!

    This historic waterfront area is next to a 17th-century canal where old wooden ships are still moored! On both sides of the canal are tall painted houses dating to the 1700s, the ground floors of which are house bars, restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating!

    This instantly recognisable statue sitting on a rock next to the Langelinie promenade is surely the most famous landmark in the city. When you get up close to the statue what will surprise you is how small it actually is, but a photo with the mermaid is a must!

    This pedestrian street runs on and on, and whether you’re up for high-street or high-end shopping the chances are you’ll find what you’re looking for here. There’s a wonderful mix of old specialty businesses that go back generations and hip boutiques for young fashionistas!

    Set on the Islet of Slotsholmen, Christiansborg contains Denmark’s Supreme Court, the Prime Minister’s office and the Danish Parliament. On a tour you’ll also get to see the Riding School, which is overlooked by a gallery, and the little court theatre!

    An earthy alternative to Tivoli Gardens, Bakken is an amusement park that has been located right here since 1583. As you might guess, this makes it the oldest operating amusement park in the world! Entry to the park is free and you buy tickets to each ride!

    This Palace is a must for anyone with a taste for royal history and the life of Denmark’s royal family who still resides inside the palace! On most days, there is admittance to the Gala Hall and the other magnificent rooms on the Piano Nobile. So go visit now!

    Amalienborg is famous for its Royal Guard, called Den Kongelige Livgarde. Every day you can experience the changing of the guards, as they march from their barracks hrough the streets of Copenhagen! The Guard change takes place at 12 noon!

    This is a green and car-free neighbourhood in Copenhagen, best known for its inhabitants’ different way of life. It was established in 1971 by a group of hippies who occupied some abandoned military barracks on the site and developed their own set of society rules!

    One of the oldest Jazz venues in Copenhagen, it attracts big names in jazz from around the world and often offers concerts multiple times a week! The stage floor is in the basement and the floor above hosting the cocktail bar where you can enjoy a dinner and a conversation!

    If your mind is more set on a casual beer than a fancy cocktail, then Ølsnedkeren is the bar for you! The bar itself offers an ever-changing and interesting selection of different beers mainly featuring Ølsnedkeren’s own brews. Perfect for a quick bite and catch up with friends!
