    100HUF = ₹26!!!
Ever been in a situation where you want to travel the whole wide world but you don't have enough money to go to even the next city?😂 I've been there too! There's also the trouble of our Rupee being much lesser than other currencies! But don't worry, I'm here to help!
  • Budapest
    The country doesn't use Euros!
I want to take you through Budapest with me! I went there during my semester break with my cousin a few years ago. The key to my trips, if you have read my previous trails is that I budget a lot. I try saving money where ever I can!

The best part of Hungary is that we won't be stuck in the middle of losing ₹70 for a Euro! I don't shop for much except for a few souvenirs and I cover as much of the city as I can! Through my guide, we'll be spending just about ₹1000 to ₹2000 a day! So let's go!
  • Avenue Hostel
    Avenue Hostel
STAY. I stayed in a hostel for the four days I was in Budapest. It was in the city so it costed me 6 euros per night with free breakfast! There are many hostels out of the city where they charge about 4 euros, so its up to you!
  • Budapest
COMMUTE. Budapest has a good network of public transport. For 1500 HUF (₹400), I got myself a ticket that allowed unlimited access to all public transport for a whole day!
  • Beer Brothers
    Beer Brothers
BEER. I am not much of a drinker, but, as far as I know, the beer in Budapest is extremely cheap! It costs as low as 200 HUF (₹50!!!!!)! The pubs have an amazing vibe to them and are very friendly towards backpackers.

FOOD. I was very content with my instant noodles I made in my hostel. But after saving so much, I spent 7 euros in cafes just once a day. For my Indian pallet, I needed a whole lot of spice!
  • Fisherman's Bastion
    Fisherman's Bastion
The Fisherman's Bastion is a neo-gothic structure on the Buda side of the Danube river. I went there as my first stop of my journey. The view from the top of Buda is truly marvellous! It has great photo ops too!

The parliament is one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever seen! Don’t miss out to look at it at night time when it’s lit up so beautifully! You can also catch a glimpse of it if you go on the Danube cruise. If you want a tour, make advance bookings!
  • Szent István Király Plébániatemplom (Bazilika)
    Szent István Király Plébániatemplom (Bazilika)
Walking around outside the church is free of cost. To see the inside, it may cost about 200HUF! I really wanted to go to the top to watch the sunset, which I did, by paying another 600HUF! The view is spectacular! I could see most of Pest from the top!
  • Danube River
    Danube River
Book a river cruise in advance!
The Danube is the heart of Budapest. I rented a cycle and cycled about Buda and Pest on my last day there. You can see all the wonders of Budapest along the way!
  • Budapest
You can also visit Vienna when you're here, which is 3hr away! Spending in totality ₹6000 for 4 days and having made memories for a lifetime, I returned to India! Budapest is the best place to go as a bag packer! It gives you great experiences and greater memories!
