The rush of rock and river !Surprise visit to waterfalls. A quick useful escape.
Popularly called the Dhuandhaar Waterfalls, these falls remain very true to its name during a surprise visit I paid to the Bhedaghat Waterfall near Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh once. I was there for a conference and had an extra day to myself which I turned useful and here I was !

Marble rocks surround the river. Exotic ancient waterfalls.
One of its most alluring features is the marble rocks that fortify the entire waterfalls and give it a majestic appearance. The river Narmada travels far & wide and pours down into these rocks that creates a huge gushing sound that stays with you even after you leave the place !

Local tourist exploration. Diving into the falls.
The waterfalls are 30 meters high & on the Narmada rivers. The local guides said that there are kids who dive inside the falls to retrieve coins thrown into the water as a source of income, but its extremely dangerous too. I saw a few kids dive myself & it was the scariest thing.

Meditating to the sound of water.
Sitting by the waterfall and slowly watching the water gush against the rocks was a very silent & calming experience. The sounds the water was making took me to a peaceful meditative place & I couldn't help wonder how amazing it would be for people who meditate at such places !

Sunlight hitting the waves ! Experimenting with photography !
I couldn't tell at first, but this is the same location where the movie Asoka was shot. The loud gushing sounds of the waterfalls could be heard from a far distance and since we went in the morning, the place was far less crowded and the pictures were extraordinarily beautiful.

    Ropeway on Dhuandhar Waterfalls.
Once people start pouring in at noon, the ropeway across the waterfalls & other such activities also start & go on till evening. There are also a few temples located around these falls at a distance of 2-3kms which are worth visiting & a good site for photography !
