    RAMANAGARA Just about 55 kms away from Bangalore, this place was Gabbar's den legendary film Sholay. I found the Ramanagara to be a sensational blend of picturesque slopes (its surrounded by 7) and lush green landscapes!

    It had beautiful lakes as well as imposing hills as a backdrop. I also went for a short trek and after relishing the surrounding, there were Sri Rama temples nearby to check out and admire. For budget travelers: the round trip fare only cost me about 1600 bucks ;)

    I was taken aback by the fort, which was perched on top of a granite hillock! With an old temple of Shiva with Nandi at the top of the hills, it was an obvious trekking choice :P The trek let me enjoy both, the surrounding nature as well as historical sites

    NANDI HILLS Nandi Hills is already quite a famous weekend getaway for the people of Bangalore and no wonder- its vast landscape of greenery and small nestled towns in between makes it a favourite The hill fortress and its various breathtaking viewpoints make it worth a visit

    Breathing in the refreshing air of the hills never gets old! 😇 I also checked out Tipu's Drop, which is known to be the point from where prisoners were thrown to their death. Yoga Nandeeshwara temple nearby is also worth a gander!

    ANTARA GANGE Going to the caves of Antara Gange is an exhilarating trip to take. Exploring a multitude of caves while going through the narrowest of gaps was never so exciting! That rock reminded me of 127 hours, btw :P

    An eerie lego man made out of rocks? Other than cave exploration, I did rock climbing, rappeling, abseiling and also camped out near a bonfire! The place is also famous for Sri Kashi Vishweshwara temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva

    CHUNCHI FALLS Just about 90 kms from Bangalore, even getting to these falls takes some rock climbing and trekking. But what you get after reaching there is sublime nonetheless The waterfall is unique as it breaks down in a series of cascades to give a jaw dropping view

    I did kayaking and rope walking, but the best part of the trip was certainly the beautiful trek between the forests after which I saw the river and surrounding hills from the top The camp turned out to be relaxing at one point and thrilling at another!
