Beautiful drive across the countryThe snow capped mountains
Andorra intrigues me. It always had. High up in the Pyrenees, the country is nestled in snowy peaks sandwiched between France and Spain. It seemed far away and inaccessible yet so alluring and enchanting in its remoteness.. I knew I had to pay a visit to this magical country.

Also when we were in Barcelona, we decided to travel for a weekend away in Andorra, possibly one of the best decisions to visit this lesser known country and discover the country’s nature, culture and adventure travel opportunities!

It may be one of the smallest countries in the world but it was certainly high on the list of the most picturesque. It was slightly difficult to get to but every second of this journey was completely worth it, with views like this is there really anything to complain about?

I was so surprised when I arrived.I’ve often been mesmerised by all that Europe has to offer with its beautiful, smaller, and quieter countries and cities but Andorra was different.. this small mountainous country boasted some of the most pristine & less frequented landscapes!

Andorra was an entirely new country. And for us to try and visit every country in Europe, there was a pull I just couldn’t resist..

Andorra’s Calum to game has always been excellent skiing and low tax shopping. Couldn’t get better? Watching the locals and tourists come together and ski in the region was an unbelievable sight!

After creating through valleys, hills and then mountains, we entered the tiny country and its toner capital- Andorra La Vella! With absolutely jaw dropping views and gorgeous but quirky buildings!

And the streets of Andorra La Vella? They were fairly standard European but with a faint70’s motif which was honestly quite unusual but entrancing!

Andorra was a bit of a strange country though. Very pretty but a little randomZ it’s main industry is tourism, like I said very popular for skiing and for a status as a tax haven.. so i went to my most fave part of it- THE SHOPPING CENTRE.

What I hadn’t realised was that there clothes stores were also on discount. Um, mountains and cheap Zara? Andorra was my new favourite country ever!

I adored waking up in this country. Every morning I’d wake to stunning views. Everywhere we looked were snow capped mountains, trees, small stone villages with picturesque churches and rotundas. I couldn’t wait to explore the country as soon as I woke up!

You can literally pick any road and it is guaranteed to take you to some place beautiful. Here we chose a rather rocky road that led us to some majestic wonders..

From here we had the most amazing views over the Andorran and Spanish countrysides: on the way we splashed through pretty streams and puddles and drove by picturesque villages in the mountainside!

During a short hike, we discovered more of the country’s natural beauty. We started out at a waterfall in a nature preserve at the base of Arinsal. It was located on the main road and even had a cute picnic area 🌼

After the falls, we drove up to the mountains to a place called Port de Cabis where we were able to stand with one foot in Andorra and one foot in Spain.. all while enjoying the stunning views of the valley.. surreal.

Nearby there was a ski area called Coll de la botallea, where we went hiking along the snowmobile paths. The scenery was beautiful, with streams flowing through the dry valley and snow dusting the mountains in the distance, it was breath taking!

Oh and besides the incredible views and shopping experience, Andorra had a lovely and lively night life as well! The pubs and clubs were so full of life and youth, it was so much fun dancing the night away to the music after discovering the beautiful country earlier!
