    Amritsar
Don't we always link certain landmarks to certain places and have it engraved in our minds that if I'm here I have to see this. Well I was the same until I visited Amritsar, the land known for the Golden Temple and Wagah Border and realized there's so much beyond that!
  • Harmandir Sahib
    Harmandir Sahib
So like I told you'll before, the Golden Temple was always on the list. So we obviously went to visit the temple but the crowd there is crazy. I mean it's flooded with people and I don't like crowd so I decided to ditch the plan of the darshan but on the outside it's beautiful!
  • Gobind Garh Fort
    Gobind Garh Fort
Our next stop was at the Gobind Garh Fort and to be frank I had not even heard about this fort before. Well this fort wasn't the very usual types- it isn't in ruins, it's really well maintained and it isn't abandoned! We visited an exhibition there along with a cultural event!
  • Ram Tirath Jaga
    Ram Tirath Jaga
On our way to our next stop our driver told us a little story. The locals at the Ram Tirath Jaga believe that it is this place where Sit gave birth to twins Luv and Kush after she was abandoned by Lord Rama. Now seriously, such stories definitely make you want to visit, don't they
  • Ram Tirath Jaga
    Ram Tirath Jaga
This place also holds ultimate significance since Hindus believe that this was the place where Valmiki sat to write the mythological Ramayana! Too much mythology!
  • Durgiana Temple
    Durgiana Temple
While we got back in our drive our driver told us we were now going to see Golden Temple Part 2 and genuinely I thought he was out of his brains but on reaching the Durgiana Temple I was amazed! It really was GT part 2! Though it is dedicated to Maa Durga it's modelled like GT!
  • Wagah
    Wagah
Well what do you think was our last stop for the day? Definitely, The Wagah Border! Ever since I was a kid I thought borders meant fights and soldiers pitching at each other but this ceremony that I witnessed here at Wagah made me realize that it isn't always about boundaries!
  • Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum
    Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum
Early next morning we were headed to the Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum! There's something about museums that always amazes me and this was one another in that lot since its scenic location is 💯. And museum is also well maintained and for an army lover like me it was a treat!
  • Sarai Amanat Khan
    Sarai Amanat Khan
I had always been a fan of the Mughals history and so when I was told that our next stop was at Sarai Amanat Lhan and it reflects Mughal architecture heavily! The place I must tell you is beautiful but it's in ruins! It was the residence of Khan who inscribed verses on Taj Mahal!
  • Pul Kanjari Road
    Pul Kanjari Road
Now I've got an interesting story! This place is called Pul Kanjari and it is a bridge that was built over a small canal and guess why! Because the dancer at the Royal Court of the Maharaja lost her favourite apir of silver sandals here! Do you see an Indian Cinderella! Well I do
  • Goindwal Sahib
    Goindwal Sahib
On our way to Gurudwara Goindwal Saheb we crossed the Beas River and what a beauty I tell you! Calm and serene!!!
  • Goindwal Sahib
    Goindwal Sahib
After crossing the mighty Beas we were at the Goindwal Saheb Gurudwara which holds utmost significance for Sikhs since their 3rd guru lived here for 33 years! And guess what's best? The concept of Langar was introduced here. So obviously we had the best Langar here!
  • Jallianwala Bagh
    Jallianwala Bagh
We had to leave the next afternoon, so in the morning on me insisting over and over again we decided to drop by what all of us have heard all our history lives! The Jallianwala Bagh!
  • Jallianwala Bagh
    Jallianwala Bagh
Once inside you don't feel as of something that brutal ever happened here. It is such a beautiful place. And the martyrs well is something you must have a look at!
  • Jallianwala Bagh
    Jallianwala Bagh
These bullet marks that made me sad! How less of humanity is this! By the way the Bagh also has a monument in the centre as a memorial for those that gave their lives. Patriotism is in Punjabs blood!
  • Amritsar
    Amritsar
When we left Amritsar we knew we were going with happy memories! And with a ton of fancy rickshaws passing by but with a lesson: It's not just what you think, it's always beyond!
